SmackDown does lowest ratings since the brand split

Against heavy competition from game one of the World Series between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians (19.368 million viewers on FOX) and the opening night of the NBA season, SmackDown reverted to similar numbers that it was doing when airing taped on Thursday nights.

The show averaged just 2.127 million viewers, down 11 percent from last week, beating the previous low of 2.292 million set on September 20th, which was the opening week of the new fall TV season.

The show finished eight for the night in total viewers on cable and fourth in the 18-49 demo with a 0.69 rating. It was actually second in primetime, trailing only the NBA game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks.

This was the lowest rating for SmackDown since the July 14th episode of the show, which did 2.068 million viewers. That was the last time the show did not air live and was the final episode before the draft special.

Here is the history of the SmackDown and Raw viewership numbers since the brand split.
