News on Women's Royal Rumble Match; Possible Matches for Clash of Champions PPV

— According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, there are currently no plans to have a women’s Royal Rumble at the 2018, however, with WWE constantly changing things up, nothing is really certain until we get closer to the event.

— The next WWE PPV – Clash of Champions on 12/17 – is likely going to be a “place holder” show before the company gets serious again for Royal Rumble, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. John Cena is not scheduled for the PPV and the main event will be AJ Styles against Jinder Mahal for the WWE title.

— Other matches likely include Usos vs. Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin for the tag team titles, Baron Corbin vs. Bobby Roode for the US title and New Day vs. Rusev & Aiden English. Another match will be a “mix-and-match” in some form involving Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn as well as a women’s match that could feature the newcomers.
