It appears as if John Cena’s comments on WWE TV regarding a ‘dream match’ against The Undertaker were in fact true, as Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated is now reporting The Undertaker is not scheduled to work WrestleMania 34 this year, leaving John Cena’s PPV plans still in doubt.
In related news, as we noted moments ago, Rey Mysterio is expected to be finalizing a deal to return to WWE sometime by the end of this week, and the deal will reportedly include a WrestleMania 34 match.
With The Undertaker being ruled out for WrestleMania this year, a rumored opponent for Mysterio is John Cena, since Cena’s original plans called for him to face The Dead Man in New Orleans. The SI report adds Cena actually requested to work with Samoa Joe or Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania, but with Joe sidelined with injury in addition to The Undertaker, it appears as of Mysterio might be the likely candidate to face Cena.

The SI report added Cena might have been lobbying for the match against Mysterio after the major reaction and buzz Mysterio created when he returned at the Royal Rumble.
As of this writing, John Cena is scheduled to compete in a Six-Pack Challenge match for the WWE Title at WWE Fastlane, and if Cena loses that match, his plans for WrestleMania 34 become open once again.
