AUSTIN, Texas – Augustana senior wrestler Jayd Docken has been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America Division II At-Large Second Team. The Capital One Academic All-America team is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The Capital One Academic All-America Division II Men’s At-Large program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo and wrestling.
Docken was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VII At-Large team in May which advanced him to the All-America ballot.
To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his or her current institution.
Docken, a senior accounting major, compiled a 3.50 grade-point average and is a three-time Academic All-NSIC honoree, a three-time Division II Wrestling Academic award winner. Docken is a four-time national qualifier and a two-time All-America performer posting sixth-place finishes at the National Championships as a sophomore and senior. He has earned All-NSIC honors three times in his career, picking up first team honors after going 29-6 in 2015. Docken, a native of Winner, S.D., finished his career at Augustana with a 93-29 record on the mat.
Docken is the fifth wrestler in Augustana history to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors and the first since Cody Lensing was named Academic All-America First Team in 2011-12.
Located in Sioux Falls, S.D., Augustana College is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
